The intent of certification of companion animal behavior professionals is to provide assurance to the public that those
certified
by the Board of Professional Certification, (BOPC) have successfully completed an approved educational program and an
evaluation
process assessing their ability to provide quality care in his/her specialty.
The BOPC serves to coordinate the activities of its committee and to provide information to others concerning issues
involving
specialization and certification of companion animal behavior specialists.
Certification is the public's assurance that you have met rigorous, peer-developed & reviewed standards endorsed by an
international
professional body. Certification is important for internal professional recognition, external verification, & accountability.
